Spring Baking

Now that it's spring break, I finally have some time to relax and get around to testing some recipes the wonderfully dangerous StumbleUpon has found.

Apologies

Sorry for the long delay between postings everyone.  Things are pretty busy at school, but hopefully I'll have tine to go out and explore more.
Best,
Mike

Chinese New Year

I've always liked LA's Chinatown.  It isn't huge, but it's fun.
Chinese New Year there is crazy, with throngs of people every which way and Chinese lined up for long waits in front of casino booths.

dineLA - The Border Grill

I've been to the Border Grill before, and my second visit was just as good.

I can't rave enough about the food - Mexican with a twist, a refreshing break from the Del Taco and commercialized rubbish of corporate America.  Not to say I don't appreciate a good plate from a taquería, but this is much more upscale.

I don't think you can go wrong with anything on this menu, especially not the dineLA specials.

Elysée

I have a soft spot for baked goods, pastries, sweets, crepes, and local businesses.

Elysée Bakery is a home run.

Two cases full of delectable treats.

Vanilla Round Two

I found myself in Santa Monica again Friday, picking up cupcakes to do my best friend a favor.

Since I happened to be at Vanilla yet again, I couldn't resist picking up another batch of their cupcakes.

Ozumo

Gorgeous is the only word I can use to describe the new Santa Monica Place.
It's gigantic, modern, spacious, airy, and just beautiful.  Money oozes from the architecture alone, not to mention the high-end retail occupying every store.

The top floor of Santa Monica Place is the Restaurant Deck - a food court with glass panel wall and7 "chef-driven" restaurants.

Though all were equally tempting, today I found myself enjoying the happy hour specials at Ozumo.
