dineLA - The Border Grill

I've been to the Border Grill before, and my second visit was just as good.

I can't rave enough about the food - Mexican with a twist, a refreshing break from the Del Taco and commercialized rubbish of corporate America.  Not to say I don't appreciate a good plate from a taquería, but this is much more upscale.

I don't think you can go wrong with anything on this menu, especially not the dineLA specials.

Tortilla chips and three salsas.
All dangerously addicting.

 The steal.

Pomegranate Lemonade.
Finally lemonade that doesn't
give you instant diabetes.

Green Corn Tamale (must-get) and Plantain Empanada

Ceviche Duo
positively wonderful.
incredible blend of flavors and texture.

Torta de Pescado
hands down one of the best tortas I've ever had.

Roasted Potato Rajas Relleno
a great chile relleno, with excellent potatoes.

Portobello Mushroom Mulitas
smoky and flavorful.

Tres Leches with Passion Fruit and Prickly Pear Sauces
perfectly done tres leches, with dueling sweet
passion fruit and tart prickly pear.  you'll wonder
where it went so quickly.

Aztec Chocolate Cake
essentially chocolate cheesecake.
rich and delicious.
